School Board

The Board of Education is made up of seven school district residents elected at-large to serve terms of four years. The board is the governing body responsible for setting direction and providing support for quality educational opportunities for all students served by the St. Louis Park School District. Further, the board is responsible for providing resources necessary to pursue its goals according to its policies; and monitor district performance to see that results are consistent with goals and policies.

Relicensure

PELSB Educator Renewal is the process managed by Minnesota’s Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board for teachers and educational professionals to maintain and renew their state teaching licenses.

PELSB Educator Renewal

During the 5-year period prior to the expiration of your license, educators will need to:

Participate in relicensure experiences for a total of 125 clock hours and secure official verification documents for each experience.
Review the PELSB Renewal Requirements Chart and Categories for Clock Hour Allocation
Learn about Professional Learning Renewal Opportunities
Connect with your local teacher association who can assist with professional learning opportunities, including the Metro West UniServ (offered each fall) and the MEA Convention.

Required documents to submit to Human Resources:

Only one Clock Hour Approval Form upon completion of your 125 CEU’s submitted during your relicensure year.
Original verification forms and PD transcripts for all experiences.

What happens after you submit materials to Human Resources:

The Continuing Ed Committee will review your hours and approve or deny them.
If approved, you must renew your license online.
- You CANNOT renew your license with PELSB (on the state’s website) until January 1st

If you are not a teacher at SLP but are a resident of the city:

Please provide an email address so that HR can contact you regarding approval/denial of relicensure materials.

Continuing Education Committee

The Continuing Education Committee meets three times each school year on the second Tuesday of October, February and May. Submissions should be received in Human Resources at least two days prior to the committee meeting.
